Description
We recommend a visit to Karlovy Vary, one of the best known spa centres in Bohemia. The town was founded as early as the l4th century by King Charles the IV, but reached its biggest expansion in the l8th and l9th century. Karlovy Vary is situated in a narrow, broken valley of the small river Teplá and has its charm. Many famous personalities took the cure here, e. g. the czar Peter I., Johan Wolfgang Ghoethe, A. S. Puškin, Ludvig van Beethoven. Antonín Dvořák and others. The town is known not only for its medicinal wells, but also for the production of the well known glass by Moser and porcelain.
