Description
Originally a Gothic castle, which was founded in the 14th century, was reconstructed in the years 1720-1725 and in the years 1898-1894. Its last and also the best known proprietor, the successor of the Habsburg throne Franz Ferdinand d Este, lived here with his family till the year 1914. In the same year Franz Ferdinand with his wife Žofie Chotková was assassinated in Sarajevo. In the castle there is a large collection of hunting trophies and old weapons. Also rooms with period equipment remain preserved.
